I don’t think the prequels are particularly horrible, either. I understand the unanimous distaste for them, of course, but aside from the fundamental issues such as awful casting and flavorless film making, I think they make a decent case for their place in the Star Wars universe. Granted, I don’t fully enjoy them as much as I used to, but you can’t just ignore how cool those pod racing scenes were in the first film. You just can’t.
