Hugo Award Winners Announced

It’s that time of the year again! The 2012 Hugo Award winners were selected last night at Chicon VII in Chicago, and if you’re anything like me, you’re itching to get a look at the nominees and silver rocket recipients. The Hugo Awards have always presented a fantastic opportunity to discover up-and-coming names in the field of science fiction and fantasy, and this year is no different. Check out a condensed list of the champions below:

Best Novel: Among Others - Jo Walton

Best Novella: “The Man Who Bridged the Mist” - Kij Johnson

Best Novelette: “Six Months, Three Days” - Charlie Jane Anders

Best Short Story: “The Paper Menagerie” - Ken Liu

Best Graphic Story: Digger - Ursula Vernon

Best Professional Artist: John Picacio

Best Fanzine: SF Signal - edited by John DeNardo

The John W. Campbell Award for the best new professional science fiction or fantasy writer of 2010 or 2011, sponsored by Dell Magazines (not a Hugo Award): E. Lily Yu
